There are all kinds of parts that make up your vehicle and ensure that it continues working to the best of its abilities. You’re probably already taking good care of your car’s oil and oil filter (if not, you should certainly give us a call, so we can get you back in shape), and are hopefully keeping up with other things like tire pressure, alignment, et cetera. One of the most overlooked parts, however, might by your vehicle’s fluids. There are all sorts of liquids found in chambers beneath your hood, and making sure that they’re filled often, correctly and cleanly is important as anything else! Obviously, oil is one of these fluids, so that statement might be a little contradictory. But there are a bunch of other fluids you might be overlooking. The other fluids in your vehicle include: transmission, coolant, power steering, brake, fuel-injection, differential, refrigerant and windshield washer. Not every vehicle has every fluid but making sure all of the ones that are present are topped off and clean is important.

You’ve probably heard about fluid flushes and might be wondering if that’s what you need. Most of the time, you just need to top off the fluids, but like we said – you do also need to make sure they’re clean. This isn’t something you’ll have to do very often at all, but it is important to eventually get most of your fluid systems flushed, especially transmission, coolant, power steering and brakes. You’ll never have to get your washer fluid flushed but check your owner’s manual for a recommendation on when to get other systems flushed, or you can always give us a call if you’d like a recommendation from us based on your vehicle and how old it is.
